The Passenger Bar and Restaurant, Madrid

The Passenger Bar and Restaurant, Madrid, Spain

The recently opened Passenger Bar and Restaurant, by Parolio, is a retro dining experience, with rich, heavy finishes of leather, brass and dark wood. The theme of Passenger, is the idea of travelling in a train car, during the height of 1930s rail travel. This concept is most notably felt through the windows, where screens play a video stream showing landscape passing by, flowing from window to window, creating the feeling of looking of a moving train.

Capanna - K Studio

Greek architects K-studio have completed a rustic pizzeria modelled on an Italian courtyard in the centre of Athens.

Patterned tiles decorate the floor and a wall in the dining room of Capanna, which is furnished with vintage tables and chairs. Reclaimed wooden shutters wrap around a mezzanine first floor, which projects over a wood-burning pizza oven and bar.

Ballpoint pen murals drawn by artist Joanna Burtenshaw decorate the walls of the staircase leading upstairs, where the shutters conceal the kitchen, toilets and a storage closet.
