Hafencity University Subway Station, Germany

Hafencity University Subway Station, Hamburg, Germany

The Hafencity University Subway Station by Raupach Architekten, has been given a new lighting system by Pfarre Lighting Design. The influence is taken form the harbour and industry of the surrounding area, and the concept is based on the use of steel, light, colour and reflection. The dramatic ambiance is created by hanging light boxes with metal frames of the exact dimensions of a shipping container, the translucent panels glow in varying colours that can change to signal the arrival or departure or trains.
