Edythe Broad Art Museum, Michigan State University

The Edythe Broad Art Museum by Zaha Hadid, is a new 46,000-square-foot build, housing art and artefacts from Ancient Greece to contemporary modern art. It's facade is comprised form pleated steel louvres and glass, standing out against the red brick buildings on the university's campus. 

The angles of the louver emphasise the sticking angle of the building, 

and although the building may appear small form the outside, its interior is spacious, with eight galleries over two floors.

Academie MWD, Belgium

The Academie MWD by Carlos Arroyo Arquitectos, provides education in music, theatre and dance. The site is surrounded by various influencing factors to the end builds appearance, form an adjacent forest, local square, to the tradition pitched roof of the local houses. 

To remain sensitive to this, the Academie facades is composed of a series of vertical-strip windows with vertically louvers that clevery alter the appearance of the building. When walking towards the forest, the effect of the shutters piece together a large image of trees, hiding the structure into the landscape. When approaching from the opposite direction, the shades reveal a display of colour and expression, reflecting the buildings purpose.

The Nantong Urban Planning Museum by Henn Architekten, is a space for exhibitions, a cafe, offices, and

conference rooms, but the most distinctive feature of the build is it's the double skin facade. The inner envelope thermally sealing the interior, while the exterior layer is constructed from skewed diamond-shaped panel, each with their own value of shade, varying in visibility from 9% to 60%, creating a facade thats appears to have a fluidity and movement.

The House in Moreira by Phyd Arquitecture, is a two storey residential build, with the exterior resembling the concrete blocks it's made from, the only openings facing each other from recessed patios in the facade. Despite being closed from it's surroundings, the interior creates a light airy space in contrast to the solid appearance of the exterior.

The All Capital Meeting Rooms by Eckhardt en Leeuwenstein, are a powerful yet playful realisation of the space. With a stong contrast created between black and thedeliberate gold spotlight ovals cast on to the walls, which is carried through to the floor with a variation on the carpet colours.

The Rizhao Visitor Center by HHD_FUN, is the final part of the shanhaitian seaside development in Rizhao, accompanying the Lanqiao Clubhouse featured on Monday (mx-design-studio/lanqiao-clubhouse). 19 indvidual volumnes rise and fall from the ground, undulating across the landscape, providing services for the expected rise in tourist numbers such as shops, cinemas, restaurants, leisure facilities and public showrooms

Lanqiao Clubhouse, China

Lanqiao Clubhouse, Rizhao, China

The Lanqiao Clubhouse by HHD_FUN, sits between the ocean and a 

black pine forest on the edge of shanhaitian beach, and is a part of a larger development of the area.

The build remained sensitive to the surrounding natural habitat, with a low-profile structure that grows out of the sand and an area of 1150 square meters under a green roof that extends the landscape. The building holds a cafe, saunas and an outdoor swimming pool.

The Winged House by K2LD architects, is split into two forms to work around the lands triangular plot.

The split between the two buildings creares a double height dining room, and throughout the build, natural materials are used which allows elements to blend in with the tropical planting that surrounds the plot
