Spiegelkantine - Ippolito Fleitz Group
German news magazine Der Spiegel moved into its new publishing house in Hamburg’s HafenCity development and commissioned Ippolito Fleitz Group to create a new employee canteen.
Also known as the Spiegelkantine, this revamped 520 square meter social eating space displays a continuation and creative outlook on the iconic 1969 Verner Panton canteen design.
Overcoming the challenges of redesigning an iconic space, Ippolito Fleitz Group created the canteen as to reflect the magazine’s “journalistic philosophy as much as its culture of dialogue“, resulting in a mirror-based design.
